She actually crashed and died on 10 March 1912, just a few months short of her 20th Birthday. Second woman to die in heavier-than-air aviation, and at the time of her death was considered to be the youngest female aviator in France

Etampes, France, March 10
     Suzanne Bernard, a 19-year-old aviator, was killed here today while undergoing examination for a pilot's license. She had successfully passed most of the tests when in an attempting a sharp turn to the right the machine was caught by an eddy and capsized. It fell 200 feet and the woman was crushed beneath the motor.
