British Aviator Is Burned to Death
Knoxville Journal and Tribune,
Knoxville, Tennessee, November 6, 1914,
Transcribed by Bob Davis - 3-13-07
Aldershot, England Via London, Nov. 5. - Aviator Busk, of the aircraft staff, was burned to death in midair today when a biplane he was testing caught fire.

The biplane burst into flames about 1,000 feet above the ground. Busk tried to descend by gliding. He continued this for nearly a mile, the craft burning furiously."

THE LATE E. T. BUSK
from Flight/global - DECEMBER 17, 1925

This article from the Flight/global archive is a full page and very interesting and comprehensive. It is perhaps the best source of information on this pioneer aviator which I have found to date. It appears to be an excerpt from the book by his mother, Mrs. Mary Busk. The following cites the source:

E. T. Busk—A Pioneer in Flight. By Mrs. Mary Busk.
(With a short memoir of Flight-Commander H. A. Busk,
R.N.A.S.) John Murray. 75. 6d. net.

The Royal Aircraft Factory
In this article from the Aviation News magazine, you will find a rather comprehensive report of the developement of the Royal Air Force and of the role played by Busk in the process. You will also find a very nice picture of the BE-2a plane in which Busk died.
