via email from Roy Nagl, 7-30-04 I thought you might like to know that I came across the mention of a French aviator by the name of Franco Castory, today, who may be a candidate for your web site, at http://www.pchswi.org/archives/timeline.html According to this web site, which presents a timeline of Portage County, Wisconsin history, in 1912: "At Stevens Point, French aviator Franco Castory, a touring exhibition pilot, flies a "radio" equipped Curtiss biplane, the first airplane to fly in Portage County." Best wishes, Roy Editor's Note: I thank Roy for once again alerting us to another "forgotten" pioneer. You can access the website by clicking on the title above. I did search for more links to his story, using Google, but only found the one link. |
Editor's Note: If you have any more information on this pioneer aviator please contact me. E-mail to Ralph Cooper |
