Anésia Pinheiro Machado in front of her "CAUDRON" G-3 of 120HP. Her plane was affectionately baptized as the "Bandeirante",
named for the dean of aviation. In this airplane she made her first solo in Brazil, on March 17, 1922, just before reaching 18 years of age. In April, 1922, she received Brevet No. 77 from the Federação Aeronáutica internacional (FAI) pelo Aeroclube do Brasil. Thereza de Marzo had received Brevet No. 76, just before Anésia.
