Knoxville Journal Knoxville, Tennessee: April 25, 1911, Transcribed by Bob Davis - 3-31-04 Aeroplanist Wins Prize of $4,000,""Pau, April 24. - Pierre Vedrine, who left Paris in his monoplane Saturday, arrived here tday, having covered a circuitous course of 500 miles in six hours and 55 minutes actual flying time, thus winning the prize of $4,000 offered by the Aero Club of Bearn for the fastest flight between the two cities.       Recently Vedrine flew from Poiterea to Issy-Les-Moulineaux, a distance of 208 miles, in 132 minutes. Later he covered the 212 miles between Issy and Pau at a speeed of 77 miles an hour. Bob Davis
