From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia. "The Challenge 1932 was the third International Tourist Plane Contest (French: Challenge International de Tourisme), that took place between 12 and August 28, 1932 in Berlin, Germany. Four Challenges, from 1929 to 1934, were major aviation events in pre-war Europe." Winifred Spooner entered this race as a member of the Italian team. You may want to use the FIND function to locate the many references to her name. Even though you may be primarily interested in the story of Winifred, I think you will enjoy reading the entire story. You will find references to many familiar names, including Renato Donati of the Italian team. You can access the site by clicking on the title above. If you will scroll to the bottom of this page, you will find links to the stories of Challenge, 1929 and Challenge, 1930. Winifred participated in each of those events. |
